Bowed Psaltery Workshops and Sales
Both of my Workshops are scheduled on Sat. Feb 27th
I will have some extra bowed psalteries with me that you can borrow to attend the workshop, if you have ever wanted to try playing.
The workshops are 45 minutes each.
Psaltery 101 - Will be a general introduction to how I play the bowed psaltery. Even folks that have been playing the psaltery may benefit from this workshop. I don't claim to know everything about the bowed psaltery, but I'm willing to share what I have learned over the past thirty years of playing. Most of our time will be spent on bowing technique, as that is the most important thing you can learn in making the bowed psaltery sound as it should. If you bring your own psaltery it should be tuned before the workshop. I am glad to help you with that at any time, just look me up. With only 45 minutes for the workshop we won't have time to stop for tuning or broken strings.
Psaltery 102 - This workshop will range out into the world of advanced bowed psaltery playing. I'll share with you my secrets of playing at jams, addtional notes on adding expression to your playing, double bowing, and more.

No vendor booth, but I will have instruments and accessories with me at my motorhome in the campground, just email or call me to set up a time to meet. The main thing I love to do at this festival is jam. Lots of fun!

There will be a time set aside to travel out of the park for vendor sales. No sales allowed in the National Park. I will also be doing a craft demo on Sunday May 9 after the festival at the Southern Highlands Craft shop in the visitors center. My sales are handled by the craft shop when I am there. I'll be at this festival early in the week to enjoy the early jamming. This festival is great fun. Terry and Pam Lewis do a great job in hosting this event.
